History of Camden Hotel

A pub has called home to 105 Argyle Street Camden since the 1870s with the original Commercial Hotel being build on the site of the first Tannery in the Coloney of NSW run by the Simpson family. The original building of the Commercial Hotel would later be demolished in 1935 to make way for the current Tudor style designed building by Architects S.H. Buchanan and Cowper, from Sydney.

Having changed names throughout the years – from the Commercial Hotel, Camden Inn, Camden Tavern (CT’s), Molly Maguires Irish Pub & most recently renamed Camden Hotel in 2005. The Camden Hotel continues it’s rich history of providing a place of entertainment and gathering for the Camden Community and out of town visitors alike with regular shows from acclaimed Australian Artists.
